Former state Rep. Girod Jackson has pleaded guilty to three tax fraud counts in federal court.
Jackson entered his plea Thursday in U.S. District Court in New Orleans.
Jackson, who represented the West Bank of Jefferson Parish, resigned from the Louisiana House of Representatives in August after he was charged with federal tax fraud and failure to file tax returns.
A New Orleans television station reports Jackson is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 9 and faces up to 3 years in prison.
