Actor Nicoye Banks, who starred in “Brooklyn’s Finest” with Don Cheadle, Wesley Snipes, and Richard Gere, and most recently with Blair Underwood in “Woman Thou Art Loosed: On the 7th Day,” directs a staged reading of Charles Fuller’s Pulitzer Prize winning drama, “A Soldier’s Play,” Monday, June 17th, 7:30 p.m. at the Georges Auditorium at Dillard University.
It stars Lance E. Nichols, who plays Larry Williams on HBO’s “Treme,” Damien Moses and Martin Bradford from Harold Ellis Clark’s critically acclaimed play, “Fishers of Men,” and other talented actors from New Orleans. Clark narrates and reads stage directions. It’s free and open to the public. African American theaters nationwide and in South Africa are reading the play simultaneously as part on Project 1, 1 Play, 1 Day.
